Get In - Get On

Get in is used for cars, vans, and trucks/lorries; get on is used for vehicles that we ride (motorcycles and bicycles) and for big vehicles that usually carry a lot of people (buses, trains, and ships). So we say “get in the car”, “get in the van”, but “get on the bike” and “get on the train”
